South Moravian Branch of Czech Society for Ornithology is an NGO whose goal is bird conservation, including active care of their habitats and nesting sites, and education. We have more than 250 members, and the CSO parent organization has over 4,000 members. The association brings together both experts and laymen interested in bird conservation. A large number of volunteers actively participate in our activities.
We have been systematically caring for rare habitats in South Moravia for many years and gained rich experience in restoration of biotopes, long-term care of the sites, traditional management methods such as grazing and mowing even in difficult wetland conditions, suppression of invasive plant species and promotion of biodiversity through small supporting elements and active management interventions. Since 2020 we have been developing the Kosteliska Bird Reserve.
